POONDU KOZHAMBU (GARLIC GRAVY serving amt-3)


INGREDIENTS:
tamarind:small sized lemon (little more than what u add for sambar)
garlic:10 to 12 p
onion:1(medium size) chopped
tomato:2(medium size)chopped
jaggery:1/2tsp
coconut:1Tbsp
turmeric:1/2tsp
sambar powder:1 to 1 1/2Tbsp
FOR SEASONING:
oil:1Tbsp
mustard seed
fenugreek:1tsp
curry leaves
asafoetida:one pinch
PREPARATION:
#heat oil in a kadai, add mustard while spluttering add curry leaves and fenugreek
#add the chopped onions fry till golden brown
#then add chopped tomatoes , add turmeric powder and allow it to cook until tomatoes are soft
#add tamarind pulp , add sambar powder add a cup of water mix well and cook for 2 to 3 mins
# add coconut, jaggery allow it to cook until the kozhambu thickens
#finally add asafoetida mix it well, cook for a min
#enjoy the kozhambu with rice
