I too make batata vada jaya but only thing is we call it as potato bonda!& i add turmeric to the potato filling & lots of chopped cashews!:)

i added turmeric as well lime juice to this batata vada, i dont think so we add in our bonda....
cashews ahhhhh!!!!!!i m against adding cashews to the food, we must always enjoy nuts just like that :D

In my potato vada, I'll add fresh corriander leaves. This gives a wonderful flavour.
