vegetarian recipes

VAZHAKKAI PORIYAL (serving amount:2)


RAW banana: 2 (medium size)
Coconut :4 tsp
green chilies:2
turmeric :1/2 tsp
curry leaves
urad dhal :1 tsp
channa dhal :1tsp
onion :1/2 onion (big size)
mustard seeds
oil for seasoning
salt to taste


#peel and cut the bananas into cubes
#add enough water to the bananas, add turmeric powder and salt
#boil it for sometime
#meanwhile grate the coconut and keep it aside
#heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, urad dhal , channa dhal and the green chilies
#add the onions and saute them till it turns light in color
#now add the boiling bananas into the kadai and mix them well
#finally add the grated coconut , if needed add some salt
#enjoy with sambar rice
