vegetarian recipes

BLACK EYE PEAS KOZHAMBU (seving amount:3)

black eye peas:1 1/2 cup
turmeric powder:1/4 tsp
green chilies slit to half:2
tamarind small round
mustard seeds
coriander leaves
curry leaves
sal to taste
onion: 1 chopped
tomato:1 chopped

To Grind Part 1

grated coconut:1/2cup
coriander powder:1tsp
chilli powder:1/2tsp
pepper corn:6 to 7 in number
cumin: 1/2 tsp

To Grind Part 2

cloves :2
cinnamon stick:2 inch
ginger:small size

# cook the peas in the cooker along with turmeric and a pinch of salt and keep aside
#heat 1tsp of oil and add the part 1 ingredients
fry them
#grind the above and keep aside
#grind the part 2 ingredients and keep aside
#heat 1tsp of oil add the mustard, curry leaves and chopped onions
#add the part 2 ingredients to the kadai and saute it
#now add the chopped tomatoes
# add the tamarind water to the kadai
#allow it to boil for sometime
#add the cooked peas to the kadai and add some water and salt
#then add the paste of part 1 ingredients
#allow it to boil for sometime
#finally add the coriander leaves and remove from heat
#enjoy by mixing kozhambu with rice
